World Breastfeeding Week 2020

8/5/2020

Let us celebrate Breastfeeding Week, from two weeks and beyond!

'World Breastfeeding Week is an annual celebration which is held every year from 1 to 7 August in more than 120 countries. According to the 26 August data of WBW website, 540 events have been held worldwide by more than 79 countries with 488 organizations and 406,620 participants for the World Breastfeeding Week 2010.'

'Breastfeeding provides every child with the best possible start in life. It delivers health, nutritional and emotional benefits to both children and mothers. And it forms part of a sustainable food system. But while breastfeeding is a natural process, it is not always easy. Mothers need support – both to get started and to sustain breastfeeding.'

I have listed together some useful resources from NHS and WBW website to provide more information and connect you with other mothers looking for support just like you.

  • Baby Café is a network of breastfeeding drop-in centres. Find your nearest drop-in by entering your postcode.
  • Bliss is a special-care baby charity that provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK.
  • The Breastfeeding Network provides breastfeeding support and information.
  • La Leche League offers mother-to-mother support with breastfeeding.
  • Lactation Consultants of Great Britain can help you find a lactation consultant near you.
  • Twins and Multiple Births Association (TAMBA) has information about feeding twins and triplets.
  • National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is a charity that provides information and support on all aspects of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood, including breastfeeding.
  • UK Association for Milk Banking has information about using donated breast milk if your baby is premature or ill, and how to donate breast milk. '

'Got a breastfeeding question?
A handy tip, Sign in to Facebook, or use Amazon Alexa or Google Home to access the Start4Life Breastfeeding Friend chatbot for fast, friendly, trusted NHS advice anytime, day or night.'

If you need any futher support please talk to your Midwives, health visitors and trained local volunteer mothers (peer supporters) are there to help you get breastfeeding off to a good start. They can give you lots of information and support when you need it.

Reach out and someone will be there.

Take Care,

Best Wishes,

The Best Baby Toys

7/8/2020

Recently a lot of my friends and family are expecting, is this some kind of lockdown baby boom? or I am just getting to an age when I am surrounded by beautiful babies.  It's defiantly an exciting time for me as a photographer,  I'm grabbing up cute props and prepping myself for a December baby boom, it will be a very busy Christmas.

There are so much gorgeous props, headbands and outfits,  it's making me very broody ... Anyway, today I wanted to share some wonderful 0-12 months toys, these will be perfect for all your friend's baby showers or even Christmas presents.

Little babies at this age will be chewing everything and crawling into places they shouldn't,  so toys which are soft and durable we make the best gifts!

Without further adieu here are my favourite 10 baby toys and clothing.
